October/November Revolution 1917
20,000 armed sailors took control of Petrograd and demanded the Soviets took power. Kornilov affair was that the Bolsheviks were seen as defenders of Petrograd. Kornilov threatened the city and said he would attack and take it by force. Lenin led the Petrograd uprising and it was virtually bloodless, only one death in the whole fight. Mensheviks believed that the Bolsheviks took power illegally. The Mensheviks walked out of the congress of soviets, and Lenin was in control now.
