The February revolution began with riots and strikes in the city of Petrograd. The point of the Feb./March revolution was to oust the tsar abduction, which it managed to do, and it aimed to replace him with a provisional government. The provisional government was led by Prince Lvov. The immediate result of the revolution was the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II.
